Murray Paddle for Slavery

A 31 day Epic

15th October to 14th November 2018

Russell Green (Regency Park Rotary) and Peter Sowden (Walkerville Rotary) completed paddling down the Mighty Murray, Renmark to the Murray Mouth – 600Km.

The trip was to raise funds for a Women’s and Girls’ Crisis Centre in NE India

The trip is now over and was used to raise funds for a Rotarian Action Group Against Slavery project in NE India, run by the Rotary Club of Dunbar, Scotland, and the Rotary Club of Kalimpong, Bengal, India.

Proceeds of fundraising will assist a Women’s and Girls’ Crisis Centre and Vocational Training facility. This is Phase 2 of the project and you can read all about it at the following links:

We were seeking sponsorship from individuals, Rotary Clubs, and corporate businesses. Our target was to raise $10/km. Our thanks go out to all those who have contributed and indeed, we did reach our target. Thank you everyone!
